The Wellington Society of Madrid is a historic
society dedicated to research, education, and cultural activities concerning
the campaigns of Arthur Wellesly, Duke of Wellington. It is not a tour
company, but offers historic walking tours of Madrid and day excursions to
offset the costs of our continuing efforts to enlighten and maintain public
awareness to the importance of Wellington’s contribution to Spanish history.
Membership is required in order to participate in our walking tours,
private tours, custom tours, theme tours or day excursions offered
by the Wellington Society. Individual memberships are not required
for school or college groups, company outings, or registered societies as
prices are arranged accordingly. |

Cost of membership in the Society is
50 € per
person
(children under 16 receive a 20% discount) New members receive a
complimentary VIP walking tour which includes 4 stops for wine and tapas.
This is a great value. No need for dinner after this tour!
Membership also gives you access to all of the Society's other tours. Tour prices vary and are listed within each tour listed under
Tour Options.
Payment for membership and
tours can either be euro cash payment or US
dollar
dominated checks if payment is made in advance. Please
inquire for details
regarding payment in advance.

Making Reservations
When joining the Wellington Society and taking
the complementary walking tour for that morning or evening, always call
the Chairman on his mobile-609 14 32 03. If you can’t get through please
try our other phone line, 666 61 66 52, as my mobile may be switched off
because I am giving a tour.
Every e-mail booking is logged in the Society’s
agenda but we ask people to confirm by e-mail (chairman@wellsoc.org) at
least one week in advance, especially if you have made reservations for
a particular day for private/specialized tour or day excursion.

SERVED!
If, for what ever reason, you have to cancel
your visit to Madrid or have changed your dates, please e-mail advising
us of your cancellation. By doing so you will be helping us and
hopefully others who will be able to sign up in your place. |

To join the Society and take part in a
walking tour through Old Madrid, e-mail with your arrival date and interests to
chairman@wellsoc.org. Always call
the Chairman, Stephen Drake-Jones, on his cell phone 609 14 32 03 when you arrive in Madrid.
Please be ready with the name of your hotel and room number.
Morning walks start at 10.30am and evening tours at
7:30pm. Both begin in Plaza Santa Ana by the bronze statue of the poet Lorca
(see photo on right-click on it to enlarge). To
maintain the high quality of our tours for our members, we limit the numbers for
each walk to no more than 10.
