Explore England's Capital with English Historian, Stephen
Drake-Jones
Stephen was born in England and educated outside London and for more
than a decade from the 1980's to the 1990's, while working as a
Professor at the Center for International Studies in Madrid, Spain,
took US study abroad students on week long visits around this great
city. For the last 10 years, Stephen has enjoyed his role as
Chairman of the Wellington Society of Madrid, where he arranges and
leads tailor made private tours for businesses, families with
children and college groups wishing to get an authentic and
interesting insight into London's history.
As King Richard III is one of his heroes, Stephen's anecdotes at the
Tower of London are rich and entertaining. His stories of whose head
was lost on yonder block are not to be missed! At Saint Paul's
Cathedral we gather at the great crypt to meet, so to speak, two
more of his favorite people in history, Wellington and Admiral
Nelson both buried in tombs side by side. A visit to Churchill's War
Rooms and the Sherlock Holmes' Museum at 221B Baker Street round out
your interesting day with Stephen. |

Visit the House of Parliament to meet his friend and Member of
Parliament (when in session), tour the fabulous Westminster
Abbey, take a boat trip to Greenwich for a tour of the Maritime
Museum, visit the National Gallery and Portrait Gallery. A walk
along the Thames to visit the Globe Theater, the Tate Modern Art
Museum and even Vinopolis |

can be added. And, of course Stephen knows the best old worldly
pubs for great pub lunches and perhaps a pint of beer in
whatever part London you may find yourself in.
Stephen enjoys planning each tour to suit the interests of your
group and can easily adjust the schedule to accommodate business
meetings, conferences or other obligations.
Please email Stephen at

your visit to London. |
